When I was 12 I acquired my first guitar and tape recorder. I spent hours recording myself playing and singing to horribly made up songs - sometimes with my brother playing “drums” on pillows and whatever else we could find. I always enjoyed listening back to what I had created out of nowhere even if it wasn’t very good. That curiosity lead me to recording digitally and ultimately to purchasing a home that ironically had a recording studio built in.
After spending a few years being in studios with some fantastic engineers and producers (such as the Headroom in Philadelphia with Joe Reinhart, Skylar Ross and Rob Freeman at Audio Pilot) my band was in need of a more efficient way to get our music out there. I started to take it upon myself to record our demos and then purchasing more professional recording devices, microphones, plugins, etc. recorded and acoustic EP during the lockdown of 2020. It gave me the confidence to open my doors to other artists and allowed me to work with other artists like The Vaughns and Sun Vessels from Asbury Park as well as my band, Above the Moon.
With Bottle Hill Recording, my goal is to help other artists capture where they are in their musical journey and get the same joy I did when listening back to those recordings I made more than 20 years ago in my bedroom as a kid.
